2. {Haylie} was in the library at UO, studying for finals and gave another girl studying a delicious snack and said "good luck with finals and happy holidays!"

3. {Chris} donated to the wounded warrior project in honor of the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor tomorrow.

4. {Michaela} made a donation to the Doernbecher's Children's Hospital!

5. {Brian} gave his wife the night off and cooked dinner, cleaned the kitchen and even did the laundry! (Now that's what I am talking about!!)

Day 5 - 12.5

Everyone is doing great - lets make FIVE merry moments together today! Leave a comment with your moment and e-mail me with any pictures or videos - jennalwinkler{at}yahoo.com

1. {Chris} ordered his Mom a bouquet of flowers "just because." Cheryl said I should have made it a Christmas arrangement but I didn't think of that (haha, go figure)

2. {Jenna} I copied Kyle today with his Starbucks deal...bought a gift card to give to a random person....just because. :)

3. {Brian} went out to rake all the leaves in his yard and decided to rake the neighbor's yard too! They came out in the midst of him doing it and were surprised, but so thankful! (Awesome moment!)
4. {Kirsten} took coffee orders for some of her Young Life girls as a surprise treat!

5. {Eva} left several "hidden" notes for a few different co-workers in different departments. It was a fun and surprising way to randomly make someone's day with kind words! (I was even lucky and found a surprise note on my notepad)

Day 4 - 12.4

1. {Cheryl} was nice and helped a lady pick up several Kleenex boxes after she accidentally knocked them over with her cart in Safeway.

2. {Chris} baked some choclate chip cookies for the desk workers at 24 hour fitness. It only took him a couple trys to get the cookies right :)

3. {See comment below - Sierra} Sent money to the Portland Rescue Mission!

4. {Kyle} Before his basketball game, he went and picked up four packages of candy canes to hand out to people at the gym. He gave them to all the people at the scorers tables, referees, opposing coaches, check-in desk people and his own team!

Day 3 - 12.3

1. {Kyle} Bought a gift card at Starbucks, then walked out and handed it to the next person he saw. "Why?" he asked. "Just because...Merry Christmas!" said Kyle.

2. {Chris & Cheryl} Helped clean up all the shopping carts for the K-Mart parking lot. The manager gave them each a high five and was ready to hire them on the spot!

3. {Haylie} Wrote a handwritten letter to her high school track coach thanking him for introducing her to running. He taught her to like running and wanted to thank him, so she sent the letter directly to the school.

4. {Chris & Cheryl} decorated a tree in the round about in our neighorhood. Hope to spark others to decorate the other trees!

Day 2 - 12.2

Let's spread holiday spirit TWICE today!

1. {Jenna} Today I decided to leave a thank you note and holiday message for our postal worker. I made a card and attached a candy cane. I placed it in the outgoing mail slot. I thought it would be a nice Friday morning surprise. Also, I made similar notes and placed them on a few neighbors cars....a little more fun to come to a treat rather than a solicitors ad on your car. Right? :)

2. {Haylie & Kenzie} The girls were at the UO Duck game tonight and found someone's cellphone. They decided to take the phone to their seats and take some awesome photos of the field from the front row. The owner finally called and the girls went and met up with the owner to give her the phone. The girl was thrilled and gave H&K a massive hug!

3. {Chris} bought 3 Powerball tickets. Gave one to the cashier and gave one to Kyle. give a ticket to Kyle is not a merry moment because if he wins Chris will expect Kyle to split it with him! :)

Day 1 - 12.1

Alright, today is the first day of making merry moments! We have a pretty easy goal...spreading holiday spirit at least ONCE today.

Please leave a comment below with your "merry moment." Send any pictures you have and I will upload this post throughout the day!

1. {Mom} She spread the spirit by purchasing a bag of non-perishable foods to help feed the hungry. She purchased the bag and a volunteer from the Help Us End Hunger program will come pick it up from the grocery store. Awesome!

2. {Kyle} My brother made an attempt to buy a lady's coffee today...but it was not successful. He asked the cashier to keep his card until she paid for the woman's drink that was standing behind him, but the woman INSISTED on paying. :) Maybe next time!

Great first day! Now lets shoot for at least two tomorrow!

Cheers!
