Day 2 - Here we go!

8. Give treats to the front desk staff at the gym.

9. Donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

10. Fill a stocking with Christmas treats and randomly chose a coworker to surprise. There was also a note left on it to encourage the coworker to pass it on!

11. Mail Christmas cards to troops at Holiday Mail for Heroes.

12. I was given a gift card for $25 to HoneyBaked Ham Co. We keep forgetting to use it and I feel someone who would like it enough to remember should have it. I'll be hanging it at the communication desk at work with a note that reads, "If you would like this gift card to HoneyBaked Ham , please take it. Enjoy."

13. Yesterday, my husband exchanged a hoodie for a smaller size at a Fred Meyer. The cashier insisted he was due $2.70. He disagreed. She gave it to him anyway. When he showed me the receipt I discovered her mistake. Today I mailed a check back to Fred Meyer for the $2.70. I put it in a cute envelope and used a fun stamp in hopes that the details would bring a smile. The note simply said we were given too much change. I didn't mention the cashier for fear she may be reprimanded. Hopefully, they'll just appreciate the effort to return what is theirs.

Day 1 - Another season of merry moments!

Hi everyone,

It is our third year of merry moments and I couldn't be more excited. Remember to post a comment on this blog or use the hashtag #merrymoment on Instagram to track photos.

We can't wait for another great month of spreading holiday cheer!

1. I walked into the restroom at my doctor's office to see an unflushed toilet. Quickly discovered it wouldn't flush. Opened the tank, saw the problem, and fixed it. Let them know it was a temp fix and what needed to be done for a more permanent one. She was an embarrassed, but grateful employee.

2. Buy someone at the gym their favorite protein bar after a hard workout.

3. Make a donation to Operation Home Front today which gives toys to children who have parents in the military stationed away from home during the holidays.

4. Empty out all of the change from my wallet and purse and made a donation to YCAP. Donations go towards providing meals for those in need this Christmas.

5. While out running errands I saw a store's banner fly off of their building and across their parking lot towards the highway. I chased it down in the wind and rain and took it back in so that they could re-hang it.

6. Donated a "leaf and lawn" sized bag of warm clothes she collected from my coworkers to the coordinator of the local cold weather shelter.

7. Make a monetary donation to Portland Oregon Humane Society for the incredible work they do!

Day 1 - 12.1

Alright, today is the first day of making merry moments! We have a pretty easy goal...spreading holiday spirit at least ONCE today.

Please leave a comment below with your "merry moment." Send any pictures you have and I will upload this post throughout the day!

1. {Mom} She spread the spirit by purchasing a bag of non-perishable foods to help feed the hungry. She purchased the bag and a volunteer from the Help Us End Hunger program will come pick it up from the grocery store. Awesome!

2. {Kyle} My brother made an attempt to buy a lady's coffee today...but it was not successful. He asked the cashier to keep his card until she paid for the woman's drink that was standing behind him, but the woman INSISTED on paying. :) Maybe next time!

Great first day! Now lets shoot for at least two tomorrow!

Cheers!
