Thank you! Thank you!

Thank you everyone for contributing to this year's merry moments! We had a great first year and I really appreciate everyone's creative thinking and willingness to spread holiday cheer. Although my goal was to make 300 merry moments, we still successfully logged 236 moments! I am so proud of all of us!

Please start thinking for next year because I know this will be an annual movement! It makes such a difference and it helps us remember what the holidays are all about.

Thank you again!

Day 13 - 12.13

We made our goal yesterday - I really hope to make it today! Thank you to everyone continuing to help make a difference!

via
1. - 6.{Anonymous} We have a family that has really made a difference this year and since they directly impacted six families - I think it is worth at least six moments...maybe even more. Read the incredible story below:

Today, four local families that were behind on their home by 45 days or less and had at least five years of payments are receiving two months of their mortgages paid for by an anonymous family. A lender worked with the giving family to identify the receiving families but did not provide all the information about the families. The giving family requested good, employed families that were just struggling to make ends meet. They were all small mortgages and it ended up costing less then they had budgeted. The lender is calling the families today to inform them of the gift “from a local family that does not know them”, in hopes that it will let them enjoy the holiday season.

*Also, the lender added two names to the list and paid their November/December payments…so together, they made six families holiday a little better.

All together, the giving family went and delivered the check to the loan office.

Day 3 - 12.3

1. {Kyle} Bought a gift card at Starbucks, then walked out and handed it to the next person he saw. "Why?" he asked. "Just because...Merry Christmas!" said Kyle.

2. {Chris & Cheryl} Helped clean up all the shopping carts for the K-Mart parking lot. The manager gave them each a high five and was ready to hire them on the spot!

3. {Haylie} Wrote a handwritten letter to her high school track coach thanking him for introducing her to running. He taught her to like running and wanted to thank him, so she sent the letter directly to the school.

4. {Chris & Cheryl} decorated a tree in the round about in our neighorhood. Hope to spark others to decorate the other trees!

Day 2 - 12.2

Let's spread holiday spirit TWICE today!

1. {Jenna} Today I decided to leave a thank you note and holiday message for our postal worker. I made a card and attached a candy cane. I placed it in the outgoing mail slot. I thought it would be a nice Friday morning surprise. Also, I made similar notes and placed them on a few neighbors cars....a little more fun to come to a treat rather than a solicitors ad on your car. Right? :)

2. {Haylie & Kenzie} The girls were at the UO Duck game tonight and found someone's cellphone. They decided to take the phone to their seats and take some awesome photos of the field from the front row. The owner finally called and the girls went and met up with the owner to give her the phone. The girl was thrilled and gave H&K a massive hug!

3. {Chris} bought 3 Powerball tickets. Gave one to the cashier and gave one to Kyle. give a ticket to Kyle is not a merry moment because if he wins Chris will expect Kyle to split it with him! :)

Day 1 - 12.1

Alright, today is the first day of making merry moments! We have a pretty easy goal...spreading holiday spirit at least ONCE today.

Please leave a comment below with your "merry moment." Send any pictures you have and I will upload this post throughout the day!

1. {Mom} She spread the spirit by purchasing a bag of non-perishable foods to help feed the hungry. She purchased the bag and a volunteer from the Help Us End Hunger program will come pick it up from the grocery store. Awesome!

2. {Kyle} My brother made an attempt to buy a lady's coffee today...but it was not successful. He asked the cashier to keep his card until she paid for the woman's drink that was standing behind him, but the woman INSISTED on paying. :) Maybe next time!

Great first day! Now lets shoot for at least two tomorrow!

Cheers!
