It is the second day and not a whole lot of action going on...come on everyone! Lets get making the moments...
1. {Jenna} gave a boy $1.50 for the toy machines in the grocery store.
2. {Karen - see comment below} has been making merry moments all year round by helping others in need. Most recently, a mother who is sick, but about to have have a new baby.
3. {Tina} donated two meals to the Portland Rescue Mission.
I have an amazing friend, Betty. A couple years ago I was feeling that I wasn't doing enough or giving enough to others. Betty was approached about a single mom. She was living on a mattress on the floor with the baby. To us, that was acceptable. We used Facebook and when everyone stepped up to the plate we furnishe her entire apartment, nursery included (living room, kitchen, bed frame, bathroom). We were approached again last year and did the same. These were during the year (not a merry moment, but we all may need help at some point). We just learned of a 17 year old sr who went to the hospital with a major blood clot in her leg. At that time they told her she was 8 months pregnant. She didn't know she was pregnant. she is struggling to get emotional support. We called on friends and compassion. In 2 days we had her nursery. Crib, bassinet, diaper bag, car seat, stroller, 2 bags of clothes. I had put a full crib bedding set with lamps in a box for a garage sale. I pulled it out and made sure her crib is set. There can't control the outcome of her labor (she's in the hospital until they dissolve the blood clot or they take the baby. Labor could cause the clot to break free and travel.
ReplyDeleteThe least we could do is make sure she has everything when she gets home.
